    Dystopia 3066

    Dystopia 3066

As Twitter began its death spiral, I challenged myself – I would write a series of satirical, post-capitalist dystopian flash fiction, with each individual post fitting within 500 characters. It had to have some form of continuity, but each post also had to individually qualify as a story, delivering a conflict, resolution, and primary character without the need for prior context. I think I mostly succeeded.

    Green Waves Over Mt. Rainier

    Green Waves Over Mt. Rainier

Since I last checked in, I have: moved 2,900 miles, survived Covid, organized a series of mass protests, rioted in the streets, single handedly restructured my companys SDLC, and made a pilgrimage to one of the last lesbian bars in the country. All of this has reaffirmed my belief that, yes, I am in fact superhuman.

    Suppose Google was Compromised

    Suppose Google was Compromised

Threat modeling is the information security practice of anticipating and mitigating negative outcomes in physical and digital systems, most often unauthorized access, theft, and vandalism. I thought it would be fun to practice this skill on a novel scenario. Even better if its something apparently nobody has ever solved or published resources for, but that could really help a vulnerable population if such a resource existed.

Long Trains, Yellow Jackets, & Anesthesia

Long Trains, Yellow Jackets, & Anesthesia

It still feels kind of unreal. After almost six years of waiting, innumerable sacrifices, and reckless leaps through the burning, acid-soaked hoop that is the American healthcare industry, I have finally, successfully received transition surgery. And you know what? It was still worth every second of it. I’d like to do a write up on the experience at some point, to help folks who come after me through the process. But damn, recovery is wild, so I’ve given myself permission to rest for a while. I really like the idea of periodically sharing things that I’ve learned, because I’d be…
